More Gray Area

One of the most popular posts I’ve had on this blog was my discussion last June of the problems surrounding gray market dental materials. It’s obviously a hot-button issue in the dental community, and I was interested to learn that the Dental Industry Association of Canada (DIAC) is undertaking an effort in that country to drive awareness of the pitfalls of using these products. To further protect the dentist from unknowingly purchasing from grey market dealers at trade shows in Canada, some trade show organizers are no longer allowing grey market dealers to participate. Do you think that the Dental Trade Alliance or another American group should create a similar program? How can the industry do a better job of educating dentists?
